Women Who Reinvented Themselves For Their Second Act
Women Who Reinvented Themselves For Their Second Act
Mary Eisenhauer is a new author looking to connect with readers interested in her book.
Turning 50 brought conversations with my friends and coworkers. Many of us were finished with or closing in on the end of raising children. Many of us had worked in the same careers for decades, careers no longer provided the fulfillment they once did. Our parents were aging or had passed away. We were married, remarried, single, or questioning our choices. Most of us were saying, "What now?" Something about hitting midlife forced a moment of truth for us. We knew we wanted different things for ourselves, but was 'different' actually possible?
The year that I spent interviewing women for this book will sit in my memory as one of the best of my life. What started as a project based on American women ultimately extended across the world. Meeting women from all backgrounds, from all over the world, and learning about their challenges and transformations has been truly life-affirming. Whether through necessity or desire, these women have boldly reinvented themselves during a time in life when society tells them their value has diminished.
